I’m quite excited today because the book I ordered has arrived.  This book was recommended and I’m really looking forward to reading it and putting the techniques into practice.  It’s called ‘Positive Training for Show Dogs’ by Vicki Ronchette. I have been looking around for a book about show training but there are just none around that I could find.  I wanted one that covered how to teach a dog stacking and gaiting also but couldn’t find one.

I borrowed a book from the library about show training and it talked about the basics of training and did some profile information on some champion dogs, but there was no actual teaching of how to train your dog for the show ring.

Although I can’t say much about the book just yet, but when I get a chance to read it and try some of it out I will come back and let you know if it is good.  I’ve had a quick flick through it and it does have a section on training your dog to stack and also training your dog to gait, so it is just the sort of book that I’ve been looking for.
